Balmy Beach Pet Hospital – Leslieville, Toronto

Balmy Beach Pet Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our rapidly growing small animal practice in Leslieville.

Our hospital has recently undergone a complete renovation and features a modern, state-of-the-art facility equipped to provide exceptional medical, surgical, dental, and urgent care services. We have an outstanding clientele, work closely with several local rescue organizations, and see a diverse and rewarding caseload every day.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in providing outstanding patient care and client service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting veterinarians with appointments, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures
  • Animal restraint and patient care
  • Surgical and dental preparation and recovery
  • Laboratory sample collection and processing
  • Radiology assistance
  • Sterilization of surgical packs
  • Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining hospital organization
  • Communicating professionally with clients and supporting the veterinary team wherever needed

The ideal candidate:

  • Has previous experience working as a Veterinary Assistant in a veterinary clinic (required)
  • Is confident handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
  • Thrives in a busy, high-volume practice and can multitask efficiently
  • Has excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Is dependable, motivated, and has a strong work ethic
  • Works well independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team
  • Is eager to learn and committed to providing exceptional patient care
