Need High School Teachers

An esteemed private independent High school is looking for high school teachers. The institution is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for students.   • Position Overview: We are seeking passionate, dedicated, and dynamic educators to join our diverse and collaborative team of professionals. We currently have openings for Grades 8–12 High School Teachers in the following subject areas:
  • English
  • Social Studies
  • Mathematics
  • Science (Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology, and Life Sciences)
  • Elective Courses

The successful candidates will be committed to fostering academic excellence, creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment, and inspiring students to reach their full potential. Applicants should demonstrate strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting the academic and personal growth of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the BC curriculum and educational standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of individual students and groups.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes inquisitive thinking and self-exploration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and projects that integrate various subject areas.
  • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to students to support their academic growth and development.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices.
  • Foster strong partnerships with families, the Sikh temple, and the wider community to support students' holistic growth.
  • Plan, organize, and actively participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and co-curricular programs to foster student engagement and contribute to the overall school community.

Qualifications:

  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate.
  • Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent recognized by BC Ministry of Education.
  • Understanding of different teaching methodologies and multiple intelligences.
  • Canadian teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to teaching in a diverse environment.

  • Teachers are required to cover their heads with a bandana while on school property, field trips, and professional development days.
