Full job description

  • Hearty Catering is cafe and catering company with a focus on healthy, sustainably sourced food.
  • We run a cafe at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine at Leslie and Sheppard East.

What we are looking for:

  • We are looking for a long-term all-arounder for daytime hours, including lunch.
  • This is a stable, permanent position for a person who wants to grow and thrive in hospitality within a professional company. Extended health care is available after 6 months.
  • 25-35 hours a week at the cafe. Monday - Friday. 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Length of shift 5-7 hours.
  • Additional hours available at catering sites.
  • Start date is ASAP.

This position includes:

  • Operating a POS.
  • Safely serving food.
  • Interacting with our customers.
  • Assisting with food prep, handling food.
  • Basic food fundamentals knowledge.
  • Opening-closing and cleaning duties.

Successful applicants will have/be:

  • Weekday availability.
  • Customer service oriented; able to communicate confidently and appropriately.
  • Experience with food prep, cooking, and baking.
  • Food Handler Certified (or willing to get certified).
  • A thoughtful, systematic approach to work.
  • Knowledgeable or interested in gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan food preparation.
