Purpose and Scope

As a Platform Engineer of a team of individuals in a specific area of digital expertise, you will be a crucial player in driving our digital initiatives forward in our agile organization. Our agile operating model consists of two components – Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution are about aligning multiple missions around business goals and facilitating collaboration on a larger scale. Digital Capability, on the other hand, focus on the growth and development of individuals within a specific expertise area. This dual structure enables us to scale agile practices efficiently while maintaining a focus on both product development and individual skill enhancement.

A Platform Engineer focuses on the development, deployment, and integration of software platforms that support our business processes and operations. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and a deep understanding of the specific platforms that drive business functions such as Veeva/Vault CRM, Veeva/Embedded Align, and Veeva MyInsights/X-Pages. The goal is to ensure these platforms are optimized to support business goals, enhance efficiency, and drive growth. You will be at the forefront of implementing innovative solutions and will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in your field

Essential Job Duties

  • Platform Development and Configuration : Design, develop, and configure business platforms to meet the specific needs of our organization. This could involve programming, configuring settings, and integrating various software solutions.
  • System Integration : Ensure seamless integration between different business platforms and systems (e.g., integrating Veeva/Vault CRM, Veeva Vault Promomats/MedComms, Veeva Network, SAP Concur, BI Reporting systems) to enhance data flow and business processes.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly monitor the performance of business platforms, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • User Support and Training : Provide technical support to platform users, resolve issues, and conduct training sessions to ensure users can effectively utilize the platforms.
  • Test Support : Provide support across testing phases, including SIT and UAT.
  • Deployment Support : Support DevOps code migrations by providing technical assistance.
  • Initiative Execution : Actively participate in and contribute to various initiatives, applying your specialized skills to achieve the objectives and expected Value. Contribute to the ongoing realization of Value from these enterprise platforms through continuous integration and deployment.
  • Collaboration : Work collaboratively with team members within the subdivision and across other digital and business units.
  • Continuous Learning : Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in a specific area of expertise.
  • Innovation : Contribute innovative ideas and approaches to enhance project outcomes and digital capabilities.
  • Reporting : Regularly report on the progress of the various Value Teams and outcomes to your Capability Lead and team members.
  • Problem-Solving : Employ analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome project challenges and deliver effective solutions.
  • Quality Assurance : Ensure the highest quality and consistency in the work delivered.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting Veeva/Vault CRM at a life science company.
  • Experienced in supporting and configuring all modules of Veeva/Vault CRM
  • Experienced in supporting and configuring Veeva Events Management
  • Experienced in configuring and supporting Multichannel CLM functionality in Veeva/Vault CRM, including the integration between Veeva/Vault CRM, Veeva Vault Promomats/MedComms.
  • Experienced in administering and supporting Veeva/Embedded Align including user management, territory modelling, rules engine and integration with Veeva/Vault CRM.
  • Experienced in building Vault platform reports and dashboards, Vault Workflow, VQL Queries
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of Life Sciences/ Pharma industry across Commercial, Manufacturing and Medical domains.
  • Cross-Cultural Experience: Work experience across multiple cultures and regions, facilitating effective collaboration in diverse environments.
  • Innovation and Creativity: Ability to think innovatively and propose creative solutions to complex technical challenges.

Preferred:

  • Veeva/Vault CRM Platform Certified Administrator
  • Experience in supporting and configuring other Vault solutions, particularly Vault Promomats and Vault MedComms
  • Experience supporting Customer Data Management Solutions, particularly Veeva Network
  • Experienced in building MyInsights/X-Pages custom dashboards using Veeva MyInsights Studio or using HTML and Java
  • Experience in integration software such as MuleSoft
  • Experience in RESTful APIs / Vault API
  • Experience in user authentication and authorisation across multiple devices including use of O’Auth and Intune Mobile Device Management and Microsoft Outlook integration
  • Other complex and highly regulated industry experience will be considered across diverse areas like Finance and Medical.
  • Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to lead ad hoc analyses, identify performance gaps, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Agile Champion: Adherence to DevOps principles and a proven track record with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.

  • This position is based in Canada.

    Salary Range: $115,500-$165,000 CAD annually per year (final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to proficiency levels and organizational equity considerations)
    *The salary range provided applies to Canada only and does not apply to any other locations outside of Canada.
