Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Sales – Ontario, this role is responsible for leading CIOT’s Architectural & Design (A&D) sales initiatives while developing strategic relationships with builders and developers. The Manager – A&D and Builder Development oversees the A&D sales team and supports the growth of project-based sales by working closely with architects, designers, builders, developers, and contractors. This role requires strong leadership, industry knowledge, and the ability to drive specification sales and long-term partnerships that generate profitable growth.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the A&D sales team and builder development representatives
  • Set sales objectives and performance targets aligned with CIOT growth goals
  • Develop strong relationships with architects, designers, builders, and developers
  • Promote CIOT products in architectural specifications and project opportunities
  • Strategically plan and manage project pipelines from design stage to final order
  • Identify and develop new builder and developer partnerships
  • Coordinate with internal departments including operations, marketing, and sales support
  • Track project opportunities and ensure proper follow-up from specification to order
  • Present product knowledge and design solutions through presentations and industry events
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing A&D and builder clients
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and new project opportunities
  • Provide leadership with market insights and growth opportunities
  • Provide post-sale customer service concerning deliveries, warranty, or deficiency claims
  • Any other tasks and functions required

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Stone, tile, or building materials industry knowledge
  • 7+ years' experience in construction, building materials, or specification sales
  • Experience working with architects, designers, builders, or developers
  • Previous leadership or sales management experience
  • Strong presentation and relationship-building skills
  • A college diploma or university degree in business, project management, architecture, or interior design
