About Us

AP Electric (CGL) Inc. is a fast-growing electrical contracting company specializing in data centre projects. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, reliability, and a strong team culture. We are seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians for upcoming positions on large-scale data centre projects in Rocky View County.

These positions are expected to become available soon. Candidates must currently reside in Calgary, Rocky View County, Airdrie, or the surrounding area and be available to start on short notice. Relocation assistance is not available.

About the Role

The ideal candidates bring strong technical expertise, professionalism on the jobsite, and previous experience working on data centre, industrial, or other large-scale commercial electrical projects. You will work closely with field leadership, apprentices, and project teams to support safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components according to applicable codes and project specifications.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, one-lines, and installation details.
  • Lead and mentor apprentices while maintaining a productive and safe work environment.
  • Perform layout, routing, and installation of conduit, cabling, devices, panels, grounding, and terminations.
  • Conduct testing, verification, and quality checks on installed systems.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Collaborate with foremen, supervisors, and other trades to resolve field issues.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, material requests, and documentation as required.
  • Participate in jobsite safety meetings and uphold all safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician certification (Red Seal or applicable regional equivalent).
  • Previous data centre construction experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale commercial or industrial electrical construction is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical code and best installation practices.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Proven ability to lead or mentor apprentices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
  • Must currently reside in Calgary, Rocky View County, Airdrie, or the surrounding area and be available to start on short notice.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
