Overview
Zumi Revolving Sushi Bar is a new modern Japanese revolving sushi restaurant scheduled to open in September 2026 in Downtown Vancouver at Alberni by Kengo Kuma.

Our goal is to create a unique dining experience that combines quality Japanese cuisine, innovative technology, and exceptional hospitality in one of Vancouver’s most iconic locations. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to join our opening team and help launch the restaurant successfully.

Compensation

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, serving, and food handling to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage and motivate staff through effective team management, interviewing, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee POS systems such as Micros POS to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Handle cash transactions responsibly, including cash handling procedures and balancing registers.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery and optimal customer experience.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain smooth operations.
  • Address customer concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.
  • Implement policies related to hospitality, food safety, and service excellence to uphold brand reputation.
  • Assist in hiring new team members by conducting interviews and onboarding new staff members.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with POS systems and restaurant operations
  • Experience opening a new restaurant is a strong asset
  • Japanese restaurant experience is an asset
  • Fluent English required; additional languages are an asset
