POSITION OVERVIEW

As a General Manager, you’re a leader who sets the tone - for the team, the guest experience, and the business. Reporting to the Managing Partner, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining GRETA’s fun and vibrant atmosphere. You will lead a team dedicated to upholding our high standards of service, food, and beverage quality. Your role will involve:

  • Coaching and developing staff to create an engaging team culture
  • Managing front-of-house costs and achieving key operational targets
  • Implementing effective scheduling and inventory control techniques

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years in a hospitality management position
  • Career mobility with the willingness to relocate to any major city in Canada or the U.S. after 1 year is considered an asset.
  • Familiarty of social media experience (content creation, strategy, community engagement, analytics, TikTok, Instagram expertise) preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Google Calendar, etc.)
  • Experience utilizing AI tools for automations and improving operational efficiencies is considered an asset.
  • Experience with POS systems (LightSpeed is considered an asset)
  • Experience with reservation booking systems (OpenTable or similar is considered an asset)
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams
  • Experience working within high performance leadership teams
  • Exceptional organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have valid ProServe and ProTect certifications
  • Strong knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
  • Proven conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
  • Experience with event coordination and execution

  • Strong business acumen with proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and inventory management (P&L management, forecasting, budgeting, etc.)

  • Ability to demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking and make data-driven decisions that improve profitability and guest satisfaction
  • Proven ability for cross functional collaboration with all departments (marketing, operations, finance, HR, etc.)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience while maintaining high service standards
  • Lead and mentor employees through ongoing coaching, training, and development
  • Manage front-of-house and back-of house costs, meeting inventory and labor targets
  • Utilize social media to drive guest engagement and brand awareness
  • Build a positive culture through effective communication, recognition, accountability and relationship building.
  • Oversee scheduling, hiring, and staff performance to ensure smooth operations
  • Work closely with the Chef to ensure menu execution, costing, and kitchen cleanliness
  • Execute administrative tasks that support the overall success of the location
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support operations
  • Work in partnership with senior leadership to analyze financial performance, set goals, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Participate in financial reviews with senior leadership, analyzing performance against KPIs.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to execute local campaigns and promotions.
  • Partner with HR on talent development, recruitment, succession planning and performance management.
  • Manage facility and maintenance needs, coordinating repairs and escalating issues as required
  • Monitor and respond to online reviews across Google and similar platforms as needed to protect and enhance brand reputation
  • Ensure consistent execution of opening and closing procedures, including checklists and end-of-night reporting
  • Represent GRETA within the community through partnerships, events, and local marketing initiatives.
  • Responsible for management and oversight of labour and COGS for all departments
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, liquor laws, health inspections, adherence to OH&S regulations, safety protocols, etc.
  • Actively contribute to corporate-level planning on a quarterly and annual basis

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & PERKS

  • Total compensation of $95,000 - $120,000, inclusive of gratuities and bonus potential (base salary dependent on experience)
