Full job description
QMC Metering Solutions supplies and integrates several meter technologies to effectively monitor the consumption of electricity, water, gas and thermal energy consumption of commercial and residential properties. We have offices in Port Coquitlam, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and have a support and distribution network across the country.
The Specialist will be part of our growing accounts and will be a key component in enhancing the customer utility value chain. This position will work closely with Billing team, Account Managers and the Energy Management and Information Systems team. The Specialist will be responsible for leveraging vast quantities of utility consumption data to identify trends, savings opportunities and value-added reporting. They will be called on to assist sales and marketing to review potential opportunities in enhancing customer deliverables and establishing new products. This position will be part of a fast growing and dynamic team and communicate with internal and external customers across Canada.
Responsibilities Include:
- Administer macro utility analysis and customer reports for key customer portfolios
- Analyse utility and building data and establish recommendations to customers and account managers
- Develop and maintain existing reports and handle data requests from internal and external stakeholders
- Perform calculations, trend analysis and quality control on all utility data types
- Establish and lead research initiatives for the benefit of sales and management teams
- Generate utility analysis reports in preparation for internal and external customer meetings, proposals and training
- Engage in direct customer support activities with respect to utility analysis and reporting
- Lead utility reporting initiatives such as, LEED, BOMA best, EnergyStar, etc.
- Other duties as assigned with respect to utility analysis, research and reporting.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Administer macro utility analysis and customer reports for key customer portfolios
- Analyse utility and building data and establish recommendations to customers and account managers
- Develop and maintain existing reports and handle data requests from internal and external stakeholders
- CEM ( Certified Energy Manager ) would be considered an asset.
- Perform calculations, trend analysis and quality control on all utility data types
- Establish and lead research initiatives for the benefit of sales and management teams
- Generate utility analysis reports in preparation for internal and external customer meetings, proposals and training
- Engage in direct customer support activities with respect to utility analysis and reporting
- Lead utility reporting initiatives such as, LEED, BOMA best, EnergyStar, etc.
Additional Roles and Responsibilities
Project-specific commissioning and troubleshooting
- Assist in calculations of complicated commercial tenant billing systems (common area allocations, district energy rates, etc.)
- Complete data-side commissioning for complex metering points (large thermal meters, gas, etc.)
- Analyze loads with unexpected values to assist in correction of meter, data collection or load itself
Energy report generation for large commercial and institutional clients
- Provide monthly or quarterly energy report generation and presentation to medium/large clients
Development of MCx3.0 analytics and reporting tools
- Provide feedback from QMC MCx users to MCx development team to improve functionality of MCx3.0
- Provide feedback from own use of MCx to MCx development team to improve functionality of MCx3.0
