Full job description

ABOUT US

Sieco-Tech Canada Inc. designs and manufactures Legal Submetering Systems — the electrical meters that let owners of multi-tenanted buildings accurately bill residential and commercial tenants for their power consumption. As buildings get smarter and utility billing gets more regulated, submetering is a small but essential corner of the electrification story — and we're the ones building the hardware that makes it work.

WHY US?

We're a small, tight-knit team — which means your work here won't disappear into a big org chart. You'll:

  • Own real problems, fast. You'll go from prototype to certified product, not just one narrow slice of a huge pipeline.
  • Learn from someone who's done it. You'll work directly alongside a senior engineer who will mentor and guide your growth — this isn't a “figure it out alone” junior role.
  • See your work matter. Every meter you help test and certify ends up in a real building, billing real tenants, under real regulatory standards.
  • Grow with us. As a small company, there's real room to shape your role as you grow into it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Product Development & Testing

  • Support design, prototyping, and testing of our next-generation meters
  • Ongoing development and testing of existing meter models
  • Write specifications for new features and internal software
  • Research industry standards (IEEE, CSA, IEC, MID, Measurement Canada) and support certification applications
  • Troubleshoot product issues through quality control, failure analysis, and repair

Customer & Project Support

  • Turn customer feedback and field issues into concrete feature specs and fixes
  • Manage support tickets for product defects, bugs, and improvement requests
  • Keep projects on track — timelines, progress reporting, and R&D documentation

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with bench/diagnostic tools — multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, or similar electronic test equipment
  • Exposure to circuit design/schematic tools
  • Comfort troubleshooting hardware down to the component level — reading schematics/datasheets and diagnosing PCB-level issues
  • Familiarity with documentation/ticketing tools for managing support tickets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • A self-starter who's meticulous, organized, and comfortable working independently
  • Nice to have: experience in metering, building controls, fire alarm systems, or other communications systems; electrical apprentice experience; interest in or pursuit of P.Eng. registration
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle (mileage compensated)

PERKS & BENEFITS

  • Health & Dental: Company-paid comprehensive health, dental, critical illness, and life insurance
  • Retirement Savings: Company-matched Group RRSP through a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP)
  • Professional Development: Tuition reimbursement, continuous learning opportunities, and support toward PEO registration
  • Mentorship: Direct guidance from a senior engineer as you grow into the role
  • Travel: Mileage compensation for travel

Sieco-Tech is an equal opportunity employer. Accommodations are available upon requests for candidates taking part in the selection process. This is for an existing vacancy.

Pay: $55,000.00-$68,000.00 per year

  • Vision care
