Restaurant Floor SupervisorJob Summary

Le Richmond is seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Floor Supervisor to join our front-of-house team.

Working directly with the Restaurant Manager, the Floor Supervisor acts as a key member of the restaurant's leadership team, supporting the Manager in the daily operation of the restaurant and ensuring the smooth execution of service.

When the Restaurant Manager is present, the Floor Supervisor works alongside and supports the Manager in leading the service team. When the Restaurant Manager is not on duty, the Floor Supervisor assumes leadership of the floor and is responsible for the smooth operation of the service.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone with strong hospitality experience who enjoys being present on the floor, supporting the team, interacting with guests and maintaining high standards of service.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Manager in the supervision and execution of daily front-of-house operations.
  • Act as a key point of leadership for the front-of-house team.
  • Assume leadership of the floor and service team when the Restaurant Manager is not on duty.
  • Supervise and coordinate servers, bartenders, bussers and other front-of-house employees.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor and ensure Le Richmond's standards of service and hospitality are consistently respected.
  • Assist with and, when required, lead pre-service briefings, floor assignments and communication of daily or event-specific information.
  • Monitor the overall flow, timing and quality of service.
  • Coordinate closely with the kitchen and bar to ensure smooth and timely execution.
  • Support, coach and guide team members throughout service.
  • Welcome and interact with guests and ensure an exceptional overall dining experience.
  • Address guest requests, concerns or complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager with staff training and ongoing development.
  • Monitor the cleanliness, organization and presentation of the dining room, bar and service areas.
  • Ensure service procedures, health and safety standards and responsible alcohol-service practices are followed.
  • Assist with POS, cash-out and end-of-shift procedures when required.
  • Perform opening or closing supervisory duties on designated shifts.
  • Ensure all required procedures are properly completed when responsible for opening or closing the establishment.
  • Communicate relevant service issues, incidents, guest feedback and operational information to the Restaurant Manager and management team.
  • Assist with other front-of-house operational responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Floor Supervisor, Restaurant Supervisor, Captain, Maître d', Assistant Manager or similar front-of-house leadership position.
  • Experience in an upscale or high-volume restaurant environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and the confidence to take charge of the floor when required.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate and support a service team.
  • Excellent hospitality and customer-service skills.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant service standards.
  • Ability to remain calm, organized and solution-oriented during busy services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working with POS systems and restaurant opening and closing procedures.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, including some late-night closing shifts when scheduled.
  • Dependable, responsible and capable of making operational decisions when acting as the floor leader.
  • Bilingual French and English is an asset.
  • Wine and bartending knowledge are assets.
