Full job description

RYU Griffintown is looking for a cook / dishwasher to join our kitchen team. We are a high-end sushi restaurant in Griffintown with a small, tight kitchen where everyone pulls their weight.

The role

  • Prep and mise en place: washing, peeling, portioning, sauces
  • Working the hot station during service, plating to standard and keeping up with ticket times
  • Dishwashing and keeping the plonge station clean and organized
  • Receiving and putting away deliveries
  • Closing duties and end-of-night kitchen cleaning
  • Following food safety and sanitation standards (MAPAQ)

Schedule and pay

  • $50,000-$55,000 Yearly Salary
  • 6 shifts per week, Tuesday to Sunday

What we are looking for

  • Reliable and on time, every shift
  • Able to work fast and stay clean under pressure
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Previous kitchen experience is an asset. We will train the right person on our menu and equipment.
  • Basic French or English

  • Fiable et ponctuel, à chaque quart
  • Capable de travailler rapidement et de garder son poste propre sous pression
  • À l'aise de rester debout longtemps et de soulever jusqu'à 50 lb
  • Expérience en cuisine un atout. Nous formons la bonne personne sur notre menu et nos équipements.
  • Français ou anglais de base
