We are currently hiring a Regular Full-Time Assistant Manager for our Road Assist Fleet team!

As the Assistant Manager, Road Assist Fleet, you’ll be at the forefront of BCAA’s Roadside Assistance team, leading a dedicated team of Fleet Technicians who help us earn our reputation as one of Canada’s most trusted brands. When it comes to priority, safety is number one, along with delivering operational needs, effective team management, and ensuring technicians have proper tools & equipment. Ultimately, you are responsible for ensuring an excellent customer experience to our Members by helping them get moving again.

Please note that this is an onsite position based out of our Burnaby Depot (5590 Goring Street). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Burnaby Depot or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.

What you’ll bring:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the automotive industry, with prior supervisory experience in another position.

  • Diploma in business management, or equivalent experience.

  • A Red Seal certification in Automotive Mechanical repair, or equivalent work experience.

  • Comfortable using technology, including working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Ability to work varied hours, including weekends.

  • Willingness to travel locally to support BCAA technicians as required.

What you’ll do:

  • Recruit, train, develop, coach, and manage team members to meet objectives and ensure skill development.

  • Support and cultivate a 'Safety First' culture through regular roadside visits with Fleet Drivers.

  • Hold overall performance and accountability for Fleet Driver operational KPIs, encompassing both towing and service aspects.

  • Foster a culture of belonging and unity within the fleet and management, promoting good team engagement.

  • Execute strategies to consistently achieve high customer satisfaction scores, measured through NPS/CSI metrics.

  • Procure and maintain necessary tools and equipment for Fleet Drivers, ensuring safety and efficiency through vendor negotiation and inventory management.

  • Execute Fleet Driver duties during periods of high call volume and/or emergencies, primarily stationed at the Burnaby Depot with occasional travel across the BC Lower Mainland.

The salary range for this position is $78,300 to $87,000 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 20%.
