MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT

The Bigstone Health Commission in Calling Lake, AB is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join our Medical Clinic Team at the Bigstone Health Centre in Calling Lake, AB. Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain files documents, demographics, background information and accurately enter into EMR: maintain organized and up-to-date patient chart
  • Act as an administrative support as required, faxing, patient record entry, charting, referrals, etc.
  • Book appointments, patient call backs/reminders, communication with external
  • Health services and providers on behalf of patients and/or health care provider
  • Taking of and accurate documentation of patient vital signs, height, weight, neonatal measurements
  • Act within a MOA capacity and scope to support Nursing, Physicians, and other health care providers as required
  • Must be available to work Monday to Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years’ work experience in related Medical Administrative; Medical Clinic or Hospital. Equivalencies will be considered.
  • Unit Clerk, Medical Office Assistant or Nursing Aide Certificate is a MUST
