Full job description

MEXIKAN is a brand-new Mexican Grill & Cocktail Bar opening in Southwest Edmonton. Our goal is to serve fresh, authentic Mexican food, handcrafted cocktails, and provide outstanding customer service in a fun and energetic atmosphere.

We are looking for a motivated Restaurant Manager / Server who enjoys leading a team while delivering exceptional guest experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will help manage the restaurant while actively serving guests during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily front-of-house operations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure every guest has a memorable experience.
  • Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately.
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently.
  • Assist the bar team when required.
  • Supervise, coach, and motivate servers and support staff.
  • Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the dining room, bar, and service stations.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure smooth and timely service.
  • Train new employees and maintain high service standards.
  • Assist with scheduling and daily operations.
  • Process payments accurately using the POS system.
  • Help maintain inventory of front-of-house supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta liquor regulations and restaurant policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of restaurant management, supervisory, or shift leader experience.
  • Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Passion for hospitality and customer service.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and professional appearance.
  • ProServe Certification (required before starting).
  • Experience using POS systems is an asset.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Mexican, Latin American, or casual dining restaurant.
  • Bartending experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience helping open a new restaurant is an asset.
