Join Seaspan Shipyards
We’re building the largest and most advanced ships in Canadian history—right here in North Vancouver. As Canada’s strategic shipbuilding partner, we’re delivering vessels for the Royal Canadian Navy and Coast Guard. As a direct result of this work, while creating jobs and rebuilding our domestic shipbuilding industry, Seaspan Shipyards is delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.

Seaspan is seeking Red Seal Qualified Welders and/or Welders with multiple years of welding experience in heavy manufacturing and/or pressure welding.

What we offer:

  • $59.29/hour (Red Seal) + double-time OT
  • Union role (Local 506) with health, welfare, & pension after 480 hrs
  • Long-term job stability with multi-year federal contracts
  • Work on the most significant shipbuilding projects in Canada

Production Welders:

  • CWB All Position FCAW Qualification (Marine Annex) with proof of prolongation of process within the last 3 months and a minimum of 6 Months Validity remaining

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal in the English language
  • Demonstrated passion for safety and environmental stewardship
  • Ability to work positively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting welding procedures, blueprints, and drawings
  • Must be able to work in a construction environment involving confined spaces, working at heights, physical labour, and various weather conditions
  • Must be flexible and able to work all shifts
