Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, HRBP (Safety, Health, Environment and Security, Technical Services, Patience Lake and New Brunswick) the Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for providing strategic HR consulting and problem-solving solutions to the business leaders within Nutrien, supporting a range of Operational sites and Corporate business functions. This position collaborates as a strategic business partner with leaders within the assigned client groups to contribute to business direction and strategy through the effective development and deployment of HR initiatives. This role is instrumental in working with the business to coordinate and oversee large scale organizational transformation while aligning programs and practices to support Nutrien’s business strategy.

What You'll Do:

In partnership with site and global functional leadership teams, create, implement, and guide the human resources priorities & KPI in support of the functional strategic roadmap

• Partner with business leaders to strengthen organizational capability and advance HR Operating Model priorities through organizational design, change leadership, workforce planning, and talent initiatives in support of One Nutrien
• Serve as an unbiased consultant to the business to mitigate risk to the company by ensuring fair treatment and a balanced approach for those impacted by the implementation of new policy, procedures and/or organizational change, problem resolution and human capital decisions
• Consult with leaders to anticipate future human capital requirements based on business, industry and market conditions
• Provide HR expertise to client groups as it pertains to total compensation (salary, incentives, benefits, pension), recruitment, employee and labour relations, organizational effectiveness, succession, and learning & development
• Anticipate the impact that new or cyclical HR initiatives will have on the client groups and work with leaders to implement and execute them accordingly
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of HR initiatives and policies and leverage the Centers of Excellence (COE), external data, and leading practices
• Utilize change management philosophy to advise and guide client group leaders when designing future state changes (people, process, and structure), preparing change and communication plans, and implementing those changes
• Apply critical thinking and thought leadership to diagnose moderately complex performance issues and work with business leaders to develop solutions and support implementation
• Support the implementation of HR initiatives and projects within the client groups
• Work with client groups to champion the enterprise culture of continuous improvement by ensuring the appropriate talent and succession structure, engagement model, performance management, and recognition systems are in place

What You'll Bring:

• Undergraduate Degree specializing in Human Resource (HR) Management
• Minimum of 8 years of HR business partnering work experience with proven career growth path in a global organization
• Awareness of the Agriculture, Mining, and Chemical industry practices and cycles would be an asset
• Knowledge of Human Resource governance practices across the geographical locations of Nutrien, particularly in North America
• Experience with large ERP systems (SuccessFactors preferred, but not imperative) and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
• Ability to travel occasionally and work flexible hours to support business clients
• Experience in a fast-paced growth environment, providing strategic direction from a human resource standpoint
• Experience with problem solving in complex projects that have a company-wide impact
• Experience with North American human resource practices, preferably in a multi-location and/or unionized environment
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical human resource initiatives
• Exceptional written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate and present a human resource perspective to senior leadership
• Strong verbal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with and influence individuals in different disciplines and at different levels
• Superior leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage indirect reports and peers
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution
• Proven ability to work in a matrix environment to reduce information silos, increase cooperation and communication, and work effectively across business functions
• Strong mentoring and coaching experience with business clients and peers of diverse expertise levels
• Experience with change management methodologies to support client groups through transformational change initiatives
• Ability to develop, implement, and manage change effectively
• Highly motivated and able to lead and inspire a team
• Possess a strong ability to develop relationships
• Able to work collaboratively across multiple functions
