Full job description

Hoco Hotels is seeking polished, professional, and guest-focused Servers to join our upscale Italian restaurant and lounge opening mid-May, located inside The Windsor Hotel in Stratford, Ontario.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard dining environment and is passionate about delivering elevated service experiences across lunch, dinner, and happy hour.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, this role is responsible for delivering exceptional table service while maintaining the standards of an upscale Italian dining experience.

As a key member of the front-of-house team, you will create memorable guest experiences through attentive service, strong product knowledge, and a refined, hospitality-driven approach.

Schedule Requirements

This role requires full schedule flexibility, as shifts may vary weekly and may include:

  • Lunch, Dinner, and Happy Hour shifts.
  • Weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Evening availability is required

Full-time and part-time opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities

Dining Experience

  • Provide attentive, professional, and personalized table service
  • Guide guests through menus, features, and wine selections
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, ingredients, and preparation styles
  • Anticipate guest needs and ensure a seamless dining experience
  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism and urgency

Food & Beverage Service

  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and input into POS system
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely and polished manner
  • Execute proper wine service, including opening, pouring, and presentation
  • Support bar and lounge service during happy hour and peak periods

Dining Room Operations

  • Set, maintain, and reset tables to upscale service standards
  • Ensure cleanliness and presentation of dining room and lounge areas at all times
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including side work and setup

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow
  • Support teammates during peak periods to maintain service standards

Systems & Transactions

  • Operate POS system and process payments accurately when required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous serving experience in a restaurant (upscale or full-service preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, polished, and guest-focused demeanor
  • Knowledge of wine, cocktails, and Italian cuisine is an asset
  • Ability to multitask and perform under pressure
  • Smart Serve Certification (required)
  • Food Handler Certification (asset)
  • Experience with POS systems and specialty coffee is an asset
  • Must be available for early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid Canadian work authorization
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage + tips (based on experience)
