Position: Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiotech or ECG skills an asset

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac Sonographer to join our team for contract placements at hospitals and healthcare facilities across Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiograms (TTE, stress echo, and other specialized cardiac ultrasound exams) in accordance with facility protocols and national standards.
  • Acquire, record, and assess diagnostic-quality cardiac ultrasound images.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare teams to support accurate diagnoses and treatment planning.
  • Provide compassionate patient care, including preparation, positioning, and education.
  • Conduct basic ECG testing if required (combined cardio tech background is considered an asset).
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
  • Ensure safe use of ultrasound equipment in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) standards.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography Program (preferably accredited by Accreditation Canada or equivalent).
  • Current registration or eligibility for membership with Sonography Canada (CRCS credential) or ARDMS (RDCS credential).
  • Experience performing ECGs or combined cardio tech skills are an asset.
  • At least 1 year of recent clinical cardiac sonography experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, pathology, and hemodynamics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

Employment Details

  • Location: Ontario healthcare facilities (placements vary – Northern and rural regions may include travel).
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00 (day shifts only).
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5x standard rate for authorized hours beyond 40 per week.
  • Employment Type: Contract/Temporary assignments (full-time hours available).
  • Compensation: $57/hour (depending on experience and site).
  • Accommodations: Provided
  • Travel: Transportation arranged and fully covered. If driving mileage is reimbursed.
