Job Description


As a System Administrator at Ubisoft Montréal, you will join the Squads and Operations team within the IT Games and Studios group. You will be part of an agile, cross-functional squad supporting Game Production teams by ensuring the reliability, performance, and operability of online infrastructures used in live game environments. In your role as a System Administrator, you will work closely with Online Programmers and Live Operations Managers to design, automate, and evolve scalable solutions that support long-term stability and an optimal player experience.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure operational stability of infrastructure and services in production environments
  • Collaborate with production teams to understand needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions
  • Design, maintain, and improve automation scripts to reduce manual work and increase reliability
  • Analyze codebases and continuous integration and deployment pipelines to diagnose and resolve complex incidents
  • Implement and evolve monitoring systems and system health tracking solutions
  • Promote operations automation and continuous improvement of system management practices
  • Participate in a shared on-call support rotation for critical services
  • Improve system performance, resilience, and availability over time
  • Configure, deploy, and manage databases
  • Reverse engineer complex systems to support troubleshooting and optimization

Qualifications
  • Practical experience working with Windows and Linux environments, including service and application hosting
  • Knowledge of automated integration and deployment workflows, including tools such as GitLab
  • Strong skills working with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting, such as Python, Shell, PowerShell, or Ruby
  • Experience using containerization and service orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems and communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical partners
