Job Overview
The rapidly growing team at Moodys Private Client LLP seek to add a US Tax Manager to its accounting team in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Moodys Private Client Accounting is part of Moodys Private Client and is home to a team of Canadian Chartered Professional Accountants and US Certified Public Accountants. Moodys Private Client is a firm that provides accounting and tax services primarily to clients in the US and Canada ranging in size from small owner-manager enterprises to large, privately held organizations, as well as individuals, trusts and partnerships. The candidate will work with a team of accountants, lawyers and tax professionals. A confident individual who demonstrates initiative and motivation toward continuous improvement of self and firm processes, and who operates with a sense of urgency, and is looking to add value to their clients in a meaningful way is recommended for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of tax concepts and application of tax knowledge as it relates to US federal income tax compliance.
  • Prepare and review of US personal tax returns, including Forms 1040, and 1040NR.
  • Prepare and review international forms, including FinCEN 114, 3520/3520-A, 5471, 8858, 8621, and 8865.
  • Research and analyze U.S. tax compliance issues, including, but not limited to residency status, income sourcing, foreign tax credits and treaty positions.
  • Provide daily guidance, coaching, and technical development to junior tax team members.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant US tax experience.
  • Completion of US CPA/EA or working towards completion, preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Results-oriented with a sense of urgency. Quick learner, self-starter and exudes a “can do” attitude.
  • Passion to learn and grow and be an integral part of a high-performing team.

Pay: $92,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
