Full job description

Head Chef
The Head Chef position is now available within the family owned Truro Group of Companies which owns and operates 3 very busy restaurants in Central Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the General Manager of Operations, the candidate must have previous kitchen management experience, desire to lead and train staff, passion for making fantastic fresh food with the vision of exceeding customers' expectations. Analyzing current processes and implementing changes to increase efficiency while maintaining or improving food quality

Communicating with all kitchen managers about menu changes

Maintaining menu consistency between all locations by working the line on a regular basis

Maintaining recipe consistency by directing staff in the production kitchen

Costing all new dishes – specials as well as menu items twice per year when menu updates occur

Maintaining and improving cleanliness and safety standards

Creating/updating “bibles”: line manuals with plating specs, recipes and ensure they are being used

Assisting in hiring and training staff

Overseeing inventory numbers are accurate

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
