Position Overview:
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Truck Driver ( AZ License Required ) will be responsible for ensuring company material/products are delivered to a specific destination in a timely manner, including loading the vehicle, delivering material, providing transport, and ensuring the vehicle is well maintained.
You will manage your time effectively by researching traffic conditions before embarking on your journey. Your vehicle will be ready when required for delivery, loading, and unloading material from, and you’ll use your knowledge of the delivery area to meet deadlines. Drivers must always ensure Steelcon provides high-quality customer service.
Work Schedule & Location
- Location: St. Catharines
- Schedule: Day Shift – Tuesday to Friday, 5:30 AM – 5:15 PM
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs
- Role involves driving, standing, lifting, and loading/unloading materials throughout the shift
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate commercial trucks to transport steel and construction materials to various project sites.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site managers.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety standards during transportation.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials when necessary.
- Support team efforts to uphold Steelcon’s commitment to safety and quality
Qualifications:
- Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating flatbed trucks
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver, preferably within construction or steel industries
- Experience handling and transporting steel products is considered a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements
- Ability to operate heavy equipment related to trucking and material handling
- Excellent communication skills, with a reliable and professional work ethic
- Physical ability to load and unload materials as required
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
