Full job description

2XL Transport is currently looking for Heavy Haul Class 1 Drivers to join our team. We are a family owned trucking company based out of west Edmonton. We provide a safe and efficient way to transport various products for other companies mainly working in the oilfield industry.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Class 1 heavy haul driver who is experienced with up to 10 axle, Hydraulic RGN(non Winch) combinations to haul heavy equipment in Canada and USA.

Class 1 drivers with flat deck experience (2 years min) are welcome to apply. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections
  • Keep accurate drivers’ logs as required to document mileage, hours and material hauled
  • Observe any equipment or mechanical failures and report immediately
  • Comply with National Safety Code and Provincial Highway / Traffic regulations
  • Comply with Transportation of Dangerous Goods Clear Language regulations
  • Comply with highway weigh scale procedures as directed by transportation officials
  • Operate PDA’s and cell phones for communication with dispatch, complying with applicable laws for communication devices.
  • Meet schedules and deadlines and drive in all weather, traffic and road conditions
  • Check and adjust load securement as required.
  • Wearing of job specific PPE clothing, masks, glasses or visors
  • Advise dispatch of all incidents and injuries immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Class 1 driver's license - in good standing
  • No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years
  • 2+ years commercial driving experience required
  • 2+ years Super B experience
  • Must be able to drive truck with manual (standard) transmission (we don't have automatics)
  • Must be able and willing to chain up
  • Must have off-road experience
  • Able to complete electronic logs and trucking apps by phone
  • Oilfield Tickets are considered an asset
  • Mandatory Criminal Background Check, and D&A test prior to employment
