Social Work Project Worker (Full-Time, 9-Month Contract)

S.E.A.S. Centre is a community-based charitable organization committed to promoting healthy living, personal development, and community engagement among culturally diverse individuals and families.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Social Work Project Worker to coordinate an innovative youth violence prevention initiative, Youth Development for Safe Futures, funded through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about youth development, violence prevention, and community engagement.

Job Details

  • Position: Social Work Project Worker
  • Location: Scarborough, ON
  • Job Type: Full-time, 9-month contract (opportunities for extension after the contract)
  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Salary: $25.00 per hour
  • Employment Benefit: Extended health benefits

What You'll Do

Working with youth aged 13–25, you will:

  • Coordinate and deliver project activities and events
  • Recruit and engage youth participants
  • Facilitate workshops on social-emotional learning, leadership, and violence prevention
  • Provide mentorship, case management, and individual support
  • Plan family engagement activities
  • Support youth-led community projects and volunteer initiatives
  • Build partnerships with schools and community organizations
  • Maintain participant records and prepare reports
  • Promote the project through community outreach and social media

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW) or equivalent
  • Experience working with youth, families, or community programs
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of youth development, social-emotional learning, family engagement, and violence prevention
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with program planning and evaluation is an asset
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual communication platforms
  • Cantonese and/or Mandarin language skills are an asset
