Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team in Guelph, ON. In this vital role, you will support daily clinic operations, manage patient interactions, and ensure accurate documentation. Your expertise in medical administrative support and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will help deliver seamless patient care and efficient office management.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and take vitals (blood pressure) before and after pocedures
  • Room patients and assist with positioning
  • Turn over procedure rooms to prepare for the next patients
  • Using critical thinking skills to problem solve in order to provide excellent patient service and care when needed
  • Verify patient health card information and demographics, and input data using electronic medical record software
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software and coordinate patient intake processes
  • Maintain accurate medical records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Update and manage electronic health records (EHR)
  • Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (10 key typing), scanning and uploading patient information to their charts
  • Work cohesively with team members to ensure efficient clinic workflow
  • Take vitals and room patients
  • Clean rooms between patients
  • Assist clinical assistants and physicians with procedures as needed

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting, preferably in a clinic is an asset
  • Experience with computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Google drive
  • Prior experience in face-to-face customer service
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
  • Ability to work well independently and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Hours of work

This is a full-time position but start as part-time and increase to full-time as clinic days increase
