THE COMPANY:

As British Columbia’s most trusted driving school, Young Drivers of Canada has been training new drivers in BC for 50 years. Our Collision free! program helps new drivers avoid crashes and ultimately saves lives. Young Drivers has been approved by ICBC to train our own Driving Instructors, and our Instructor Training Course provides all the knowledge and resources to ensure that our new Instructors are in the best position to succeed on the job. Our Kelowna business has grown recently so we are looking to add our 5th instructor to the team! Plus we cover the cost of the training course under our employment agreement! The training course will start on October 5th in Kelowna

THE POSITION:

We are seeking a full time Driving Instructor. This position starts with teaching practical on-road driving lessons with novice drivers, with future training provided in order to become a YD Classroom Teacher. Instructors are paid based on lessons delivered. There could be the possibility of greater earnings if the instructor is willing to pick up extra lessons when needed. Since many of our clients are High School students, our Driving Instructors need to be available to work afternoons & evenings until 9PM on weekdays and one weekend day (your choice). POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants should meet the following requirements to be considered:

ICBC Approved Driving Instructor* (We can guide you through this process)

High school diploma or equivalency

Excellent spoken English
a good driving record with a valid British Columbia Driver License
at least 5 yrs. driving experience at the Class 5 Driver License level in Canada
no criminal record convictions - a criminal record check with vulnerability sector screening is required
acceptable driver medical report
proficiency in internet/mobile technology

REQUIRED TRAINING:

160 hours of training to learn the Young Drivers Collisionfree Approach.

Course starts once applicant has received approval from ICBC
