Job Summary

Pemberton Valley Hardware is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Floor Associate / Cashier to join our team. This position combines cashier responsibilities with sales-floor support, stocking, inventory tasks and assisting customers in finding the right products and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, responsive customer service on the sales floor and at the till.
  • Process purchases accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
  • Help customers locate products and recommend suitable alternatives when items are unavailable.
  • Search for non-stock items through our internal catalogues and assist in setting up a special order .
  • Check stock levels and incoming quantities using our inventory system and handheld inventory tools.
  • Respond to routine customer inquiries and direct requests to the appropriate department when necessary.
  • Stock shelves, put away incoming products and help manage overstock.
  • Assist with inventory counts, stock checks and general store organization.
  • Learn our point of sale system and follow our operating procedures and established internal workflows.
  • Build product knowledge through training and day-to-day experience.
  • Work cooperatively with coworkers and contribute to a positive team environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A helpful, positive and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Dependable attendance and consistent follow-through.
  • Basic comfort using computers, we will train you to use our point-of-sale systems and inventory tools.
  • Good attention to detail when processing transactions and entering customer information.
  • Ability to manage customer needs while balancing cashier, stocking and sales-floor responsibilities.
  • Willingness to learn about hardware products and store procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous retail, cashier or hardware experience is an asset.

The right candidate will be approachable, reliable and willing to learn. They will take pride in helping customers, completing work accurately and supporting the team wherever needed.
