Trades jobs in Kingston, ON

This Job Isn't For Everyone.

But If It's For You — You Already Know It.

Most job ads list requirements. This one is going to describe a person.

• You take pride in doing things right — not because someone is watching, but because you would know if you didn't.
• When you finish a room, you step back and actually look at it. You notice the clean cut-in on the ceiling. You catch that one drip before it dries. You're the kind of person who cares about the small things, even when no one asks you to.
• You show up when you say you will. Full stop.
• You believe your work reflects on you — and you want that reflection to be something you're proud of.
• You genuinely like serving others. Making someone's home feel fresh and beautiful is something that actually matters to you.

If that's you, keep reading.

About RocketPainter Kingston

We're a locally-owned and operated painting company in Kingston, Ontario, built on a simple idea: treat every client's home like it's our own.

We're known across Kingston for showing up on time, communicating clearly, doing exceptional work, and leaving every job site spotless. Our clients say things like "best painting experience ever" and "professional, respectful, and proud of their work." We intend to keep it that way — and we need the right person to help us do it.

We don't just hire bodies. We hire people who fit.

Our V.I.P.S. Values

Every decision we make, every job we take on, every interaction we have — these four values guide us. They're not aspirational. They're operational.

V — Value

We create real value for every single person we interact with — clients, teammates, and

neighbours alike. Not just putting paint on walls, but genuinely improving people's lives.

I — Integrity

We show up on time. We do what we say we're going to do. Every time, without exception.

Our word is our bond — and our reputation is built on it.

P — Pride

We take pride in our craft. Every room, every cut-in, every finish is done to the absolute best

of our ability. "Good enough" isn't in our vocabulary.

S — Serving Others

We go out of our way — and then some — to improve the experience of everyone we interact with. Being of service to others isn't a task. It's a privilege we take seriously.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Junior Painter at RocketPainter Kingston, you'll work alongside our experienced crew on a variety of interior and exterior residential painting projects. You'll learn proper surface prep, priming, cutting in, rolling, and finishing — from your first day through to your first solo room. You'll work in real homes with real clients who trust us. We'll teach you the technical side. What we can't teach is character — and that's what we're really hiring for.

What You'll Get

• Full-time, year-round employment — no seasonal layoffs, no guessing about your hours
• Starting pay: $21–$26/hour, with a clear and structured path to $33/hr+
• Transparent pay progression — you'll always know exactly what you need to do to earn more
• A real career path: Junior Painter → Senior Painter → Crew Lead → Management
• Hands-on training from an experienced team that genuinely wants to see you succeed
• A culture where your time, effort, and work are respected — every day

Who We're Looking For

• Someone who takes pride in doing things right, not just getting them done
• Someone reliable — you show up on time, ready to work, every time
• Someone who genuinely enjoys being of service to others
• Someone eager to learn, open to feedback, and committed to improving
• A valid driver's license (required — we travel to job sites across Kingston and surrounding areas)
• Prior painting experience is a bonus, but absolutely not required — we will train the right person

No experience? No problem. The right attitude is worth more to us than a resume.

One Last Thing...

Because we want to make sure you actually read this whole ad — and didn't just skim it —

please include the phrase "Rocket Ready" somewhere in your message. It's a small thing,

but it tells us a lot about how you approach what you're asked to do.

We're not looking for the most experienced painter in Kingston.

We're looking for the right one.
