Job Summary
Our Bus Drivers are the unsung heroes who keep the mountain moving! Whether you're behind the wheel of our 48-passenger buses with a Class 2 licence or transporting guests and staff in our smaller shuttle vehicles with a Class 4 licence, you'll play a key role in keeping the resort connected. From safely shuttling staff and guests up and down the mountain to transporting summer camp participants from town, no two days are the same. Rain, shine, or snowy mountain mornings, you'll be the friendly face that starts and ends each guest's journey with a smile. If you have a valid Class 2 or Class 4 driver's licence, a commitment to safety, and a positive attitude, we'd love to have you on board. Come help keep Mount Washington moving!
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently transport guests and staff to and from the mountain and around town.
- Greet everyone with a friendly welcome and a positive attitude
- Safely operate 48 and/or 24 passenger school buses in all weather conditions.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring the bus is in safe operating condition and reporting any issues promptly.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules, ensuring timely arrivals and departures from designated stops.
- Use designated app to keep staff update to date on any delays or breakdowns
- Ensure all passengers follow safety regulations
- Monitor passenger behaviour and maintain a respectful and safe environment on board.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel, and inspections.
- Report unsafe conditions, road hazards, discipline issues, or scheduling conflicts to Transportation Supervisor
- Keep the bus clean inside and out, maintaining the resort’s professional image.
- Provide suggestions for service improvements where applicable.
- Attend a staff orientation session, safety meetings, and required training sessions.
- Follow all Resort policies and procedures.
- Provide a valid driver’s abstract annually with at least two years of clean driver’s abstract
- Hold and maintain a Class 2 or Class 1 license
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Class 4 but Class 2 preferred driver’s license with air brake endorsement and a current clean driver’s abstract.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, school transportation regulations, and emergency procedures.
- Dependable, timely, patient, and cooperative—especially when the weather isn’t!
- Able to sit and drive for extended periods while maintaining focus and safety awareness.
- Comfortable following driver schedules and adapting to changing conditions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Strong decision-making skills to respond appropriately to safety, mechanical, traffic, and road conditions.
- Able to manage passenger behaviour calmly and respectfully.
- Committed to working safely and in compliance with the Resort’s Occupational Health & Safety Policy and WorkSafeBC regulations.
Interview Process
- Pre-Screen phone call
- Step two will involve a working interview, where you’ll drive the full shuttle route alongside the Transportation Supervisor.
