Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Tow Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely towing vehicles, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the operational readiness of tow trucks. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, automotive repair, and commercial driving regulations. The Tow Truck Operator plays a vital part in assisting customers with vehicle emergencies while ensuring safety and efficiency on the road.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tow trucks to recover and transport vehicles in various conditions and locations
  • Assist customers courteously, providing professional customer service during stressful situations
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on tow trucks to ensure optimal performance
  • Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with vehicles or equipment as needed
  • Load and unload vehicles using appropriate towing equipment, ensuring secure attachment
  • Maintain accurate records of all towing activities, including time, location, and vehicle details
  • Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to ensure safe operations at all times
  • Coordinate with dispatch to prioritize jobs and manage time effectively

Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (ABDL) with clean driving record
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience with automotive repair preferred
  • Experience operating forklifts or similar heavy machinery is a plus
  • Strong customer service skills to handle interactions professionally and empathetically
  • Ability to work independently in various weather conditions and environments
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to vehicle recovery and roadside assistance
  • Prior experience in towing, automotive repair, or related fields is advantageous
