3RD OR 4TH YEAR AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN APPRENTICE

OK TIRE MACLEOD TRAIL SE | CALGARY, AB | FULL-TIME, PERMANENT

READY TO TAKE YOUR AUTOMOTIVE CAREER TO THE NEXT LEVEL?

Are you a motivated 3rd or 4th-year Automotive Service Technician Apprentice who wants to do more than just tires and oil changes?

We want you on our team!

OK Tire Macleod Trail SE is growing, and we're looking for a hardworking, mechanically minded apprentice who wants to sharpen their skills, tackle challenging repairs, and learn from experienced automotive technicians.

WE ARE MORE THAN JUST A TIRE SHOP!

We handle a wide range of automotive repairs, including complex diagnostics, engine-out jobs, major mechanical repairs, suspension and steering work, brake systems, and much more.

If you want to build real-world experience, develop your diagnostic abilities, and become a confident, well-rounded automotive technician, this is your opportunity.

We're looking for someone who shows up ready to work, takes pride in their workmanship, learns quickly, and wants to become one of the best in the trade.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Real mechanical experience: Work on more than tires and basic maintenance. Get involved in major repairs, diagnostics, and engine-related jobs.
  • Hands-on mentorship: Learn directly from experienced technicians and develop the skills needed to succeed in the trade.
  • Competitive wages: Pay based on your apprenticeship level, experience, skills, and performance.
  • Career advancement: Build your abilities with the goal of becoming a qualified Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician.
  • Stable, full-time employment: Join a growing automotive shop with a variety of repair work.
  • Support for your apprenticeship: Continue developing your trade knowledge and progressing toward your next certification level.
  • A team that values hard work: We want people who take ownership of their work, help their teammates, and contribute to a productive shop.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs under the guidance of licensed technicians and the Shop Foreman.
  • Assist with diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle concerns.
  • Complete brake jobs, suspension repairs, steering work, oil changes, and general maintenance.
  • Assist with engine, transmission, drivetrain, and other major mechanical repairs.
  • Participate in complex diagnostic work and engine-out repairs as your skills and experience allow.
  • Use shop equipment, scan tools, and technical information to troubleshoot vehicle problems.
  • Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Document repairs and report additional concerns to the supervising technician.
  • Keep your tools, work area, and shop equipment clean and organized.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with technicians, the Shop Foreman, and Service Advisors to keep jobs moving.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Registered 3rd or 4th-year Automotive Service Technician Apprentice in Alberta.
  • Previous hands-on experience in an automotive repair shop.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in automotive diagnostics and repairs.
  • A willingness to learn, take direction, ask questions, and improve every day.
  • A dependable work ethic, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and as part of a team.
  • Good communication, troubleshooting, and time-management skills.
  • A valid driver's licence and an acceptable driving record for moving and road-testing vehicles.
  • Your own basic set of automotive tools is required.

WHO WILL SUCCEED HERE?

We're looking for an apprentice who wants to build a career, not just collect a paycheque.

You take pride in fixing things properly. You want to understand why a vehicle has a problem, not simply replace parts. You're willing to work hard, learn from experienced technicians, and take on increasingly challenging repairs as your abilities grow.

If you're motivated, reliable, and serious about becoming a great automotive technician, we want to meet you.

READY TO GET TO WORK?

Don't settle for a position where you're stuck doing the same basic jobs every day.

Join OK Tire Macleod Trail SE and build the hands-on experience you need to become a skilled, confident Journeyperson Technician.

Apply through Indeed today! Send us your résumé outlining your apprenticeship level, shop experience, and the types of repairs you've worked on.
