Our products are fully designed and manufactured in house. Everything is engineered, welded, and assembled at our manufacturing facility and shipped throughout North America, and our name is on every one of them when it gets to the farm. This is equipment that commercial dairies run 365 days a year, so it has to be right when it leaves us.

This is a working manager job. Expect to spend roughly half your day on the floor with tools in your hands, building product alongside a team of four to five junior assembly technicians, and the other half coordinating them, checking their work, and handling the paperwork that goes with each project.

Everything that leaves our welding shop passes through you. You will assemble it to the plans and models, confirm every part against the BOM, complete the documentation, and make sure it goes out the door packaged the way you would want it if it were showing up at your own place. That last part matters more than people think — a parlour that arrives complete, clean, and clearly labelled saves the install crew a day and tells the customer we know what we are doing.

We are looking for someone who works without much direction and spots problems before anyone has to point them out.

Job Requirements

• Assemble milking parlours and dairy components from engineered drawings, 3D models, and shop plans
• Check every part against the BOM — every part, every time
• Coordinate and coach four to five junior assembly technicians: setting the day’s priorities and the standard of work
• Complete all required project documentation and photograph every load before it ships
• Package and crate finished product to a professional standard — prepare every load as if it were being delivered to you
• Work closely with our shipping team: pulling spare parts orders and helping with packing when things get busy
• Catch problems early — wrong parts, missing hardware, drawing errors, weld issues — and getting them sorted before they leave the building
• Keep the assembly area clean, organized, and running to schedule

Skills and Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical assembly experience, and the ability to read drawings and 3D models and build from them
• Extremely detail-oriented and organized. If “close enough” describes how you work, this is not the job.
• Willing to roll up your sleeves and work beside the team, not run them from an office
• Takes real pride in the finished product — you prepare and package it as if it were coming to you
• Self-directed — you see what needs doing and get it moving without waiting to be told
• Proficient with Excel and Outlook (BOMs, checklists, order tracking, and email are a daily part of this role)
• A clear communicator: you will be dealing with welding, engineering, shipping, and service every day
• A passion to work with the team and be a part of DLS's future growth and success - be that person who wants to be a part of that
• Dairy, agricultural equipment, stainless, or industrial assembly background is an asset, not a requirement — we will teach the dairy side to the right person

Pay: $32.00-$38.00 per hour
