Full job description

Teacher’s Pets – Pet Care is growing! We provide top-tier, compassionate in-home pet care, dog walking, and drop-in visits across Saskatoon. We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and animal-loving Lead Pet Care Coordinator to help keep daily operations running smoothly. In this hybrid role, you will bridge the gap between hands-on pet care in the field and operational coordination behind the scenes—handling daily scheduling, client communication, and team support so every pet receives the highest level of care. Key Responsibilities 1. Operations & Scheduling (Admin ~35–40%) Coordinate and adjust daily dog walking and pet visit routes using scheduling software. Respond promptly to client booking inquiries, schedule changes, and general questions via email and messaging platforms. Assist in onboarding new clients, organizing initial meet-and-greets, and maintaining accurate pet profiles/care notes. Coordinate lockbox/key assignments and ensure staff have the correct access details for each visit. 2. Hands-On Field Care (~50%) Conduct high-quality dog walks, puppy visits, and cat/small-animal drop-ins as scheduled. Provide backup field coverage when team members are sick, on leave, or during peak booking periods. Send clear, engaging visit report cards with photos and detailed updates to pet parents after every visit. 3. Team Support & Quality Assurance (~10–15%) Check in with team members during daily shifts to troubleshoot issues (lockbox trouble, traffic delays, pet behavioral flags). Assist the business owner with shadowing/training newer team members on proper handling protocols and safety standards. Maintain supply kits (first aid gear, extra leashes, treats, waste bags). Qualifications & Requirements Animal Handling Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of professional or formal animal care experience (e.g., dog walker, vet clinic assistant, animal shelter/rescue volunteer, or kennel attendant). Communication & Organization: Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable multitasking and keeping schedules organized in a fast-paced environment. Transportation & Driver’s Licence: Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence (Class 5), a clean driving record, and access to a reliable, winter-ready vehicle for daily field visits across Saskatoon. Safety & Security: Must be able to pass a clean Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check). Certifications: Pet First Aid & CPR certified, or willing to complete certification within 30 days of hiring (company-sponsored/reimbursed). Physical Stamina: Comfortable walking multiple miles per day in varying Saskatchewan weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, and cold). Tech Comfort: Comfortable using mobile apps, route mapping tools, and basic digital communication platforms. What We Offer Competitive Hourly Wage: $19.00 – $22.00/hr + paid mileage for field travel. Flexible Growth: Opportunities to transition into an expanded Operations/Assistant Manager role as the company grows. Hands-on Support: Direct mentorship from the business owner and continuous training in animal handling and business operations. Pet First Aid Certification Support: Reimbursement/sponsorship for industry-standard Pet First Aid & CPR. Fun & Meaningful Work: Spend your workdays supporting pets and their humans in the Saskatoon community! How to Apply Please send your resume and a brief cover note telling us about your experience working with animals and why this hybrid coordinator role is a great fit for you to: fedak.reagan@gmail.com with the subject line "Lead Pet Care Coordinator – [Your Name]".
