Overview

We are looking for an organized, efficient, and reliable Ice Cream Maker to join our independent shop. This role changes with our seasons: full-time hours during our peak season (March through September) to keep up with high summer demand. During the quieter winter months, you will transition to a flexible, part-time schedule focused on equipment maintenance, deep cleaning, and future planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Peak Season Production (March – September): Prepare, pasteurize, and churn our ice cream, sorbets, and dairy-free bases according to strict recipe standards. This position is also responsible for preparing sauces and other from-scratch mix-ins, packing, labeling, and properly storing and organizing finished products.

  • Collaboration: Meet regularly with the owner and the manager of Customer Service to discuss day to day issues, upcoming events and brain storm specials and weekly promotions.
  • Health, Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe production space. Monitor equipment and ensure that they are in good working condition and are reaching proper heating and/or cooling temperatures for safe food preparation and storage.
  • Winter Maintenance (October – December): Shift to a flexible schedule that focuses on taking machinery apart, thorough deep cleaning, shop repairs and upgrades in anticipation of the next season.
  • Winter Break: Enjoy a complete business closure and an extended break over the Christmas and New Year holidays.
  • Pre-Season Planning (January – February): Return in January to collaborate, plan and prepare for the upcoming season.
