Job Description:

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate ABA to join our team. The ABA will play a pivotal role in providing assessment, intervention, and ongoing support to individuals with autism and related disorders. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills and have a strong commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of our clients.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • In accordance with the guidance of the BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), execute personalized treatment plans, behavioral support strategies, and ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) techniques.
  • Under the BCBA's supervision, make ongoing adjustments to existing programs as required.
  • Accurately collect program and behavior data.
  • Create session notes that are concise, professional, and objective.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including Social Workers, Speech-Language Pathologists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Support Workers, and Rehabilitation Therapy Assistants, as necessary.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently in the field, delivering ABA services to clients in their homes without daily oversight.
  • Maintain a caseload of billable hours in addition to other tasks assigned by the Manager.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Manager regarding your availability, schedules, and changes in clients' needs.
  • Please note that this position typically begins as part-time and hours will increase as your caseload grows.

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • A diploma in behavioral sciences; a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, diploma or degree in early childhood education or a related field (for BCaBA), and/or hold or be in the process of completing a Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis or possess related certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) OR be working towards becoming a board-certified behavior analyst.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and/or developmental disabilities, those exhibiting high-risk behaviors, dual diagnoses, and a wide range of mental health challenges.
  • Proficiency in implementing ABA principles and techniques.
  • The ability to adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and the code of ethics outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • A commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and complying with Provincial legislation (e.g., PHIPA, Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Quality Assurance Measures, etc.).
  • Demonstrated flexibility and strong time-management skills for managing evolving caseloads.

What you'll need:

  • A valid G class Ontario driver’s license.
  • Reliable insured transportation.
  • An up-to-date and clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Current First Aid and CPR training.
  • Current Safe Management (or equivalent) training.
  • Proficiency in ABA is essential.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; effective decision-making abilities; excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Fluency in an additional language is an advantage.
