Located in the heart of Yorkville, Toronto, AMT offers a collaborative clinical environment where physicians, allied health professionals and clinical staff work closely together to provide a high standard of care.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) to join our team in a varied role that combines diagnostic imaging with broader clinical responsibilities and patient care coordination.

In addition to performing general X-ray examinations and DXA scans, you will contribute to our executive health program, supporting comprehensive assessments focused on preventative health, early detection and long-term wellness.

You will also work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals in sports medicine and orthopaedics, with opportunities to develop additional clinical skills and contribute to the coordination of patient assessments and care.

We are looking for an MRT who takes pride in their technical expertise, enjoys working with patients and is interested in a more varied and integrated clinical role. Training will be provided in additional clinical procedures, including phlebotomy, ECG testing and musculoskeletal injection preparation, as required.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostic Imaging & Clinical Support

  • Perform high-quality general X-ray examinations, as well as DXA body composition scans and bone mineral density (BMD) testing using GE Lunar equipment.
  • Ensure accurate patient positioning, image acquisition and adherence to established imaging protocols and radiation safety standards.
  • Review imaging outputs for technical quality and completeness, including bone density and body composition measurements.
  • Operate and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment, including routine quality assurance, quality control and coordination of equipment servicing.
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic testing and clinical procedures, including obtaining appropriate consents and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Perform ECG testing and phlebotomy, with training provided as required.
  • Assist physicians with musculoskeletal injection preparation and other clinical procedures, with training provided as required.
  • Maintain accurate imaging records, patient documentation and clinical information using electronic medical records and diagnostic imaging software.

Clinical Coordination & Patient Care Support

  • Coordinate comprehensive patient assessments, including diagnostic testing, appointments and follow-up requirements.
  • Track the completion of assessments, diagnostic tests and clinical reports to support continuity of patient care.
  • Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to facilitate the timely preparation and completion of patient reports.
  • Conduct post-clinic reviews and follow up on outstanding clinical matters.
  • Manage clinical and laboratory supplies, including ordering and inventory tracking.
  • Support physicians and allied health professionals with day-to-day clinical and administrative requirements.
  • Collaborate with the clinical and administrative teams to coordinate patient scheduling and maintain efficient clinical workflows.
  • Contribute to improvements in clinical processes, patient experience and quality of care.

Required Qualifications

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in the specialty of radiography.
  • Diploma or degree in Medical Radiation Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Strong technical knowledge of general radiography, including patient positioning, image quality and radiation safety.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and diagnostic imaging software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations, professional standards and patient privacy requirements.
  • Initiative, adaptability and an interest in expanding clinical skills and responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications & Assets

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Radiation Technologist preferred.
  • Experience performing DXA body composition scans and bone mineral density testing, preferably using GE Lunar equipment.
  • Familiarity with DXA analysis software, bone density measurements and body composition metrics.
