Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented General Laborer/Demolition Worker to join our client's team in the Toronto area. The successful candidate will assist with demolition projects, site preparation, material handling, and general labor duties while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy physical work, take pride in their craftsmanship, and are committed to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Duties

  • Prepare all work areas by taping and covering walls, fixtures, and adjacent surfaces with protective plastic.
  • Remove existing ceiling tiles from suspended (drop) ceiling systems.
  • Remove ceiling tiles that are stapled directly to existing drywall ceilings.
  • Remove T-bar grid components as required by the project scope.
  • Sort, handle, and dispose of all removed ceiling tiles, T-bar materials, and related debris.
  • Transport debris to designated disposal locations, including bins and the garbage chute located on the third floor.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area throughout the project.
  • Perform daily cleanup of work areas and remove accumulated debris at the end of each shift.

Tools Provided

  • Baker scaffolds
  • Dump carts
  • Broom and dust pan
  • Tape and plastic sheeting

PPE Provided

  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses
  • Cut-resistant gloves
  • High-visibility vest (as required)
  • Note
  • Follow all site safety requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Protect existing finishes and building components from damage during demolition activities.
  • Report any damaged, hazardous, or unforeseen conditions to the site supervisor immediately.

Pay: $21.00-$22.00 per hour
