About Limitless Automatics & Doors

Limitless Automatics & Doors is an Alberta-based company specializing in automatic entrance systems, commercial doors, and complex door hardware solutions. We work on a wide range of projects—from new construction and retrofits to service and preventative maintenance—supporting clients who rely on safe, reliable, and well-executed entrance systems.

We take pride in doing things properly, supporting our people, and creating opportunities for technicians who want to grow their skills and build a long-term career in the industry.

About the Role

This role is ideal for an Automatic Door Technician with a solid foundation who is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll work alongside experienced technicians while also handling independent service calls and installations as your skills and confidence grow.

We're looking for someone who is motivated, dependable, and committed to delivering quality work. Whether you're continuing to build your experience or already a seasoned technician, you'll have the opportunity to grow with our team.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Service

  • Assist with and perform installation, service, and maintenance of automatic sliding, swinging, revolving, and all other types of door systems
  • Support the installation of commercial doors (aluminum, steel, glass, wood) and door hardware, including electrified hardware
  • Install and service door operators, sliders, sensors, actuators, relays, safety devices, and related accessories
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues with support from senior technicians
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on automatic and all types of door systems

Planning & Coordination

  • Participate in site visits, field measurements, and job preparation
  • Work alongside senior technicians, project managers, electricians, and site teams
  • Learn to interpret wiring diagrams, installation manuals, drawings, blueprints, and door hardware schedules

Documentation & Standards

  • Complete work orders, service notes, and safety documentation electronically through company software
  • Maintain a clean, organized work van and ensure tools and inventory are properly managed.
  • Follow company safety procedures and jobsite standards
  • Represent Limitless professionally with customers and contractors

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in automatic doors, commercial hardware, security integration, glazing, or a related trade
  • Mechanically inclined with an interest in learning electrical and electronic systems
  • Comfortable working in the field and open to hands-on learning
  • Willing to ask questions, take feedback, and improve your skills
  • Reliable, organized, and safety-conscious
  • Able to communicate respectfully with customers and site teams
  • Comfortable using basic digital tools (email, work order apps, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean abstract

Nice to Have (but not required)

  • Experience working with any of the following brands: Assa Abloy, Record (Ditec), Horton, Dormakaba/Crane, Stanley, Nabco, Tormax, LCN, Micom, Sigma, etc)
  • Exposure to access control or electrified hardware
  • AAADM Certification (or interest in obtaining it — training support available)

What We Offer

  • No on-call requirements — this role offers consistent weekday hours without after-hours standby expectations. Enjoy predictable hours and a healthy work–life balance.
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience
  • Company vehicle (as role progresses)
  • Cell phone allowance
  • Health & dental benefits
  • Company clothing & PPE
  • Paid training and certification opportunities (DHI, AAADM, Ambico, etc)
  • Ongoing mentorship from experienced technicians and office staff
  • Clear opportunities for advancement into senior technician or office roles
  • Steady, year-round work in a supportive environment

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Monday–Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required (with appropriate compensation)
