Position Summary


As a café supervisor, your role is to assist the manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the café, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. Your responsibilities include overseeing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining quality standards, and handling financial and administrative tasks. You supervise staff, provide training, and manage inventory and budgets. Additionally, you handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain a safe and clean environment. Your role involves promoting teamwork, implementing promotional strategies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

The hours of work for this position may vary based on the needs of the café and must include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. $19.60 per hour.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Service: Train and guide staff to provide excellent customer service.
    Staff Supervision: Manage and support café staff, including scheduling, task assignment, and following policies. Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, inventory, and financial transactions for optimal efficiency and profitability. Quality Control: Maintain standards for food and beverages, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance. Training and Development: Provide ongoing training to enhance staff skills. Problem Solving: Handle customer complaints and resolve operational challenges or conflicts among staff members. Financial Management: Monitor expenses, budgets, and sales for accurate reporting and cost control. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations through inspections and training. Teamwork: Foster a positive work culture, emphasizing communication, cooperation, and mutual respect.

Qualifications

Experience: Previous experience in the industry, barista experience preferred.
    Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership abilities, effective communication, and decision-making skills. Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints. Knowledge of Café Operations: Understanding of cash handling, inventory management, quality control, and health and safety regulations. Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage schedules. Problem-Solving Abilities: Aptitude for resolving operational challenges, customer issues and staff conflicts. Financial Acumen: Basic understanding of financial management and cost optimization. Teamwork and Communication: Strong teamwork skills and the ability to foster a positive work environment. Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and handle a fast-paced environment.
