The Banquet Server/Bartender is responsible for serving food and beverage items at banquet events. Our Banquet team members aim to create an amazing customer experience by making sure each guest is treated attentively and pleasantly, from the time they arrive to the time they depart.

Responsibilities for this role include:

• Creating a positive guest experience through knowledge of products, services, and interaction with guests
• Building and maintaining professional guest relations
• Being knowledgeable in steps of service
• Being knowledgeable in food and beverage products with the ability to upsell and recommend products to guests
• Assisting in the setup and take down of banquet functions as per the BEO, including tables, chairs, linens, table setups, bar areas, and buffet lines
• Serving plated food, or, assisting in buffet services
• Making drinks according to recipe standards
• Clearing away dirty dishes and glassware from tables, ensuring the guest’s space is always clean and clutter free
• Assisting with the cleanliness and organization of the banquet area
• Graciously handling all guest concerns in a timely manner, alerting the Manager and involving them when necessary
• Stocking inventory as required, let Management know of items running low or out
• Complying with all legislative requirements and internal standards, policies, and procedures while upholding the company’s core values
• Other relevant and related duties as assigned

The “must haves”:

• A passion for the tourism industry
• Required certifications to responsibly serve alcohol (based on your province)
• Previous experience in a restaurant and/or banquet facility
• Food, wine, and liquor knowledge
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Physical ability to stand for long periods of time
• Great organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
• Confident in striking up conversation and connecting with guests in a positive and upbeat manner
• Accurate cash handling
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Qualified applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, possess a valid work or study permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role

The “nice to haves”:

• Valid certification in First Aid
• At least 1 year of serving/bartending experience
