Cashier/Customer Service Hiring

MaKaam Modern Artisan Thai is looking for a passionate, reliable, and hardworking Wok Cook / Line Cook to join our kitchen team at Time Out Market Vancouver. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in preparing high-quality food with consistency and care, we'd love to hear from you.

Position Type

  • Full-time or Part-time
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Immediate start available

Working Hours:

Shifts vary based on business needs and may include morning (10 am), evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: Starting $19 + Tips / hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, welcoming experience
  • Handle credit, debit, and other payment transactions accurately
  • Operate POS system and ensure correct billing
  • Issue receipts, refunds, or change when needed
  • Assist customers with inquiries, orders, and general support
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of cashier area
  • Coordinate with kitchen/service team to ensure smooth order flow
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
  • Follow company policies for payment handling and service standards
  • Support basic upselling and promote menu items when appropriate
  • Follow health, sanitation, and food safety regulations at all times.
  • Support opening/ closing duties and assist team members during busy service periods.

Requirements & QualificationsExperience

  • Previous experience in Thai, Asian, or high-volume restaurant kitchens preferred.
  • Understanding of kitchen workflow and fast-paced service environments.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong multitasking and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to food allergies and quality.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environment.
