Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Scribe - Assistant to support healthcare providers in documenting patient encounters accurately and efficiently. This role is essential in ensuring seamless clinical workflows and high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience working within a medical office setting. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the healthcare industry while supporting medical professionals directly.

Hours

  • Mondays 8 AM to 2 PM in PCC Hamilton office and 1 to 2 hours work from home.
  • Thursdays 9 AM to 2 PM in PCC Mississauga office and 1 to 2 hours work from home.

Duties

  • Assist healthcare providers by accurately transcribing patient information during medical examinations and consultations
  • Document patient histories, physical exams, diagnoses, and treatment plans into electronic medical records (EMRs) in real-time
  • Ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies
  • Manage and update electronic medical records to reflect current patient information
  • Support administrative tasks related to patient flow and record keeping as needed
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure thorough and precise documentation of clinical encounters

Skills

  • Prior experience in a medical office or clinical setting is preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMRs) systems is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately document clinical information
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
