Mack Construction Services Ltd. is a leader in telecommunications infrastructure, fiber optic network deployments, and civil construction. We are a turnkey utility construction company, specializing in horizontal directional drilling (HDD), hydrovac, excavating, trenching, fiber splicing, and underground utility construction in the telecom, utility, and pipeline industry. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Foreman to lead daily field operations and ensure project execution aligns with company standards.

Job Summary:
The Foreman is responsible for managing day-to-day field activities, supervising crews, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in fiber optic and civil construction projects. This role plays a hands-on leadership role in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise field crews in FTTH/FTTX construction, civil works, and fiber installation activities.
  • Coordinate trenching, HDD, plowing, hand digging, placement, splicing, and restoration tasks.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, on schedule, and to company and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Construction and Project Managers to meet project milestones.
  • Monitor crew performance, track daily progress, and report on productivity and challenges.
  • Conduct safety tailgates and enforce all health and safety procedures on-site.
  • Support with troubleshooting field issues and adjusting crew tasks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation and ensure proper use of equipment and materials.
  • Train new team members and reinforce quality control practices.
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for crew coordination and client interactions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in fiber optic network or civil utility construction.
  • Strong knowledge of underground utility construction methods and job site safety.
  • Knowledge of outside plant telecommunications network infrastructure, including aerial, buried, and underground applications.
  • Hands-on experience with locating, trenchers, HDD rigs, excavators, and related equipment.
  • Familiarity with fiber installation, conduit placement, and restoration techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, locates, and construction plans.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide crews.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic work environments.
  • Experience with SiteDocs, MOTIVE, QuickBase, and/or other job tracking tools is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean abstract.
