Full job description

Location: Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver (JCCGV)
Wage: Starting at $17.85/hour, based on experience and program

The Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver (JCCGV) is currently seeking creative, energetic, and passionate instructors to lead and facilitate afternoon, evening, and weekend programs for children, youth, and teens (ages 3+).

Whether you’re an experienced coach, artist, musician, scientist, or have a unique skill or hobby you love to share, we want to hear from you! We are particularly interested in candidates with original program ideas that could add to the vibrancy and diversity of our offerings.

Examples of program areas include:

  • Sports

  • Arts & Crafts

  • Music

  • STEM/STEAM

  • Movement & Dance

  • Language or Culture

  • …or something entirely new!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead program sessions (with support from the Children and Youth Coordinator)

  • Identify and request necessary supplies

  • Set up and clean up classroom/program space

  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants

  • Communicate with parents and guardians as needed

  • Attend JCC staff training sessions as required

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, youth and/or teens

  • Reliable, communicative, and professional

  • Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable

  • Comfortable communicating with families

  • First Aid certification is an asset

  • Criminal record check is mandatory

Schedule & Hours:

Most programming runs between 3:00pm–7:00pm on weekdays and Sunday daytime hours, though additional times may be available depending on program needs.

Work Location:

All programming is held in person at the JCCGV, located in Vancouver.
