Join a Growing Canadian Food Manufacturing Leader

This is more than a traditional accounting role. We are seeking a finance professional who enjoys combining strong accounting fundamentals with financial analysis, forecasting, business partnership, and modern reporting technologies. You'll play a key role in financial reporting, period-end close, quarterly forecasting, intercompany accounting, banking, internal controls, and management reporting while leveraging tools such as Power BI, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Power Query, and approved automation solutions to drive efficiency and insight.

What You'll Do

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Complete account reconciliations and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Manage bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding items and discrepancies.
  • Maintain fixed asset accounting including additions, disposals, depreciation, and capital projects.
  • Prepare working papers, schedules, and supporting documentation for financial reporting.

Forecasting, Budgeting & Analysis

  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and projections for revenue, expenses, EBITDA, and working capital.
  • Analyze financial performance and investigate significant variances against budget, forecast, and prior-year results.
  • Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to management.
  • Support annual budgeting and reforecasting processes across departments.

Intercompany Accounting

  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, balances, and settlements.
  • Coordinate with Head Office and affiliated companies to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and ensure transactions are accurately coded and documented.

Corporate Reporting & Internal Controls

  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting packages for Head Office.
  • Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
  • Maintain strong documentation, reporting controls, and accounting procedures.
  • Assist in implementing audit recommendations and process improvements.

Finance Technology & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel models and reporting tools.
  • Build and support Power BI dashboards and KPI reporting.
  • Leverage Microsoft 365 Copilot and approved AI tools to improve reporting, analysis, and documentation.
  • Identify automation opportunities using Power Automate and other approved technologies.

Process Improvement & Business Partnership

  • Recommend and implement efficiencies that improve reporting accuracy and reduce manual effort.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the business to provide actionable financial insight.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

What We're Looking For

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation or active progress toward CPA is preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong background in financial reporting, period-end close, bank reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment is considered an asset.

Technical Skills

You bring strong expertise in:

  • Financial accounting and GAAP
  • Advanced Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, PivotTables, XLOOKUP, dynamic arrays, financial modelling)
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, Dynamics, Oracle, or similar
  • Power BI dashboards and data visualization
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI-assisted productivity tools
  • Power Automate and reporting automation (asset)
