Company Overview

Scheller Metal Fabricators Ltd. Is a Winnipeg, Manitoba-based Hydrovac and Vacuum Truck Manufacturer and Distributor. With a strong and growing demand for Hydro Excavation Equipment we’re looking to expand our team.

Hydrovacs are non-destructive excavation machines used in a variety of different industries and applications, including utility daylighting, industrial clean up and oilfield service. If you take pride in building extraordinary quality equipment for an ever-growing market then you're the person we're looking for.

Job overview

Service and assembly of Hydrovacs and vacuum trucks, which means working with and on pneumatics, hydraulics, electronic components, water pressure pumps and equipment, as well as hot water boilers. You will be part of a team of mechanics and assemblers involved in every step of pre- and final assembly.

Job Duties:

  • Ability to repair and assemble hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical custom jobs.
  • Assemble and install hydraulic components, electrical wiring, various control systems.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to guide the assembly process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following safety and quality standards.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve assembly techniques and reduce production times.
  • Conduct tests on completed units to verify functionality and performance.
  • Perform on-site service and repairs
  • Perform routine inspections and quality checks to ensure components meet specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanic, hydraulic, or electronic systems.

Skills and Qualification

  • Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Certification is an asset.
  • Proficient skills and knowledge in mechanics
  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Must have good English communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Pump and Blower systems of various brands (asset).
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience (asset).
  • Experienced with pneumatics, hydraulics and electronics on Hydrovacs and Vacuum Trucks is a highly valued asset.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Maintain high-quality standards.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in workflow.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a positive team player who is detail-oriented, adaptable, open-minded, enthusiastic, takes initiative and has strong organizational and time management skills.

Schedule Details:

  • Monday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours per week).

PLEASE NOTE: Reliable transportation is required as we are not accessible by public transportation.
