Full job description

We are a small Ophthalmology clinic in Victoria, BC looking to hire an energetic, reliable and professional individual to join our team. Potential for long term career with professional growth and development. Our ideal candidate is attentive to detail and accuracy, has strong organizational skills, practices patience with various client types and can work under pressure.

Requirements for the position

  • Fluency in English
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate a normal range of office equipment (telephone, fax, computer, photocopier)
  • Experience as an ophthalmic tech is an asset but not required
  • Experience with EMR (Accuro) is an asset but not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing such as OCT, fundus photos, auto-refractions, visual field, tonometry, pachymetry
  • Testing visual acuity
  • Taking patient health history
  • Administering eye drops as directed
  • Use of autoclave to sterilize instruments
  • Setting up surgical procedure trays
  • Setting up and cleaning/sanitizing procedure rooms
