Position Overview:

LawDepot is currently expanding and looking to recruit a Technical Editor in Edmonton, Alberta. As a part of our UX Optimization team, you will play a hands-on role in migrating and implementing interactive web products used by more than 25 million people annually. From shaping questionnaire content to publishing updates through our Content Management System (CMS) tools, you will ensure our products are engaging, high quality, and easy to use. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week with opportunities in office or hybrid.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the migration of legacy files into a new internal platform and contribute to ongoing system improvements

  • Implement high-quality products using in-house tools in alignment with defined acceptance criteria

  • Build and refine interactive questionnaires and document templates that guide customers in creating customized legal documents

  • Support colleagues by assisting with product launches, publishing updates, and setting up or taking down experiments

  • Review and improve existing solutions to enhance structure, organization, and long-term maintainability.

  • Identify patterns and common functionality across implementations to improve consistency and reduce duplication.

  • Execute project plans, track deliverables, and coordinate scope changes with project owners

  • Collaborate with our Legal, Research, Design, Development, and QA departments to deliver products that are both user-friendly and legally sound

  • Conduct peer reviews to maintain quality and consistency across products

  • Improve CMS platforms and work with the Development team to bring enhancements to life

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Web Development (ex. DMIT), Information Technology, Writing, Communications, Business, Library and Information Studies, or other relevant fields

  • Ability to learn, utilize, and troubleshoot various types of CMS platforms

  • Strong logical thinking skills, with the ability to apply structured reasoning within systems and tools

  • Ability to identify opportunities and suggest new ideas

  • Self-driven with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to identify and prioritize high-impact business objectives

  • Strong attention to detail, including a focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality when working across complex systems and content.

  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to accelerate workflows, troubleshoot problems, and improve quality of outputs, while maintaining strong independent judgment

  • Experience with coding, web design, or software development knowledge would be an asset

  • Ability recognizing system constraints and working with cross-functional teams to improve workflows or functionality
