Full job description

Nama is a women’s activewear and lifestyle brand creating elevated essentials across activewear, layering, lounge, and everyday performance product.

As we continue to grow our product pipeline, we’re looking for a senior fractional Technical Product Lead to support the development, testing, and standardization of our core fabric platforms.

This role is focused on activewear materials, performance standards, fabric testing, and mill/vendor alignment. We’re looking for someone who can bring senior technical judgment to fabric development while helping us build practical standards that support consistency, quality, and scale.

What You’ll Work On

  • Develop and refine standards for core activewear and lifestyle fabrics
  • Review fabric submits, test reports, lab dips, strike-offs, and bulk approvals
  • Support fabric development with mills and vendors
  • Help define testing requirements for stretch, recovery, shrinkage, pilling, colourfastness, wash performance, handfeel, opacity, and durability
  • Create practical approval processes for fabric development through bulk production
  • Advise on material selection for activewear, layering, lounge, and accessories
  • Identify fabric risks before products move into production
  • Help translate brand and product goals into clear material requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Senior experience in activewear, performance apparel, technical knits, intimates, swim, or stretch fabrics
  • Strong understanding of fabric development, fabric testing, mill communication, and bulk approval processes
  • Experience with nylon/spandex, polyester/spandex, brushed fabrics, compression fabrics, soft-touch knits, and/or performance lifestyle materials
  • Ability to evaluate stretch, recovery, handfeel, opacity, pilling, shrinkage, wash performance, and durability
  • Comfortable working with offshore mills and vendors
  • Able to create clear, usable standards without overcomplicating the process
  • Experience supporting growing brands is a plus

Engagement

Type: Fractional / Contract
Initial scope: 60–90 days, with potential to continue + role expansion
Commitment: Approximately 1 day per week
Location: Remote
Category: Women’s activewear, performance fabrics, lifestyle knits, lounge

About the Role

This is not a general design or production coordination role. We’re looking for someone with deep materials expertise who can help strengthen how we develop, evaluate, approve, and standardize fabrics as we scale.

The right person will be able to look at a fabric beyond handfeel and ask the technical questions that matter: how it stretches, recovers, washes, wears, holds colour, performs in bulk, and supports the intended product use.

Pay: $80.00-$120.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
  • Store discount
  • Work from home

Work Location: Remote
