Position Title: Class 1 Company Driver (Rail & Domestic Division) - Evening Shift

Job Type: Full time, hourly

Salary: From $28.49 per hour, as per our CBA

Location: Richmond, BC

Union: Teamsters Local 31

About Us:

Simard Transport has been a leader in the Canadian transportation and warehousing industry for over 75 years. It has a long-standing reputation for exceptional quality and customer service. Operating from the largest commercial capitals in Canada, Simard offers solutions for the transportation of cargo from all major maritime, airport, and railway terminals.

This is a union position with Teamsters Local#. Shifts start and end in Richmond, BC. A company fuel card is provided. Pay remuneration hourly and paid weekly by direct deposit. Dispatch is done by company-issued phone and TMS (Dispatch system).

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts themselves accordingly, as an ambassador of Simard and our values
  • Responds promptly and effectively to any safety or operational equipment problems
  • Complies with all Transport Canada rules and regulations
  • Completes pre and post-trip inspection in accordance with motor vehicle regulations
  • Informs supervisor of any maintenance issues promptly
  • Ensures paperwork and related documentation are accurate and legible; maintains records and files.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid BC Class 1 with airbrakes Driver’s License
  • Minimum 1-2 years of driving experience
  • Containers Experience
